Hi everyone,

I just discovered a strange behaviour in a longer piece voor large windband with some tempo changes.

I entered the tempo changes using the expression tool with the playback effect set. When I play back the piece with all staves showing all goes well. When I play back with a staff set showing that contains the top most staff, also all goes well. But when I play back showing a staff set that doesn't contain the top most staff, strange things happen.

I discoverd this somewhere in the middle of the piece. I had set the new tempo at a certain point. Six bars after that point a repeat is started and there the tempo is reduced (when showing a staff set not including the top most staff). When the top most staff is showing the tempo doesn't change.

I work on a Mac with OS X 10.11.6 and Finale 25.2.0.79

Has anyone els seen this?

Greetings, Hans

You probably need to have the Tempo Mark show on All Staves for that to work.

Use the default Tempo Marks category score list of "top staff" and all should be well.

Hi,
@oldmkvi: I don't want these tempo marks showing on every staff so that is't really an option.
@motet: That is precisely the category (showing on the top staff) I use.
Greetings, Hans

When you select the staff set is the tempo mark shown on the top staff? It appears to work for me.

Wich ever staff set I select: the tempo mark is allways shown.

I have noticed something akin to the behaviour described.

I don't make frequent use of playback, let alone with Staff Sets, but I have in the past noticed that if the Staff Set does not include a stave to which the tempo change is attached in full score Page View, the change is liable to be ignored during playback of that Staff Set.
