Hi there...I'm using 2014.5 on a Mac.

I recently tried to print a drum set part, and regardless of whether I print to a pdf or actually print from the Finale file, the last half dozen or so bars all have a big ? with a box around it in very bold lines.

Does anyone know why this happens and how to remove them?

Thx

Sir Lunch

What is supposed to be in those measures?

There is already notation in the affected bars...the ? boxes are in addition, and don't occur in any other section of the piece...

I've uploaded the Finale file for you to look at...

I just printed to pdf and get no ? in boxes. Can we see your pdf to see what they look like?

That usually indicates that the font used doesn't have a glyph for that character. Either you've changed the font from the one you originally set, or you don't have the font installed.

Your noteheads have been changed to something that doesn't exist in Maestro. (Char 204).

That would make sense, because whomever wrote this did no formatting whatsoever, so I volunteered to format the parts. EXCEPT that I just went back to the original .musx file that was sent to me, printed to pdf the drum part, and got the same thing, as you see here: Btw, you said you printed to pdf and did not get the ? in boxes at all...can you email me that pdf? It's sirlunch@gmail.com -- THX a bunch!

YES YES YES YES....

Thx so much, I almost had to argue with a drummer that the ? were NOT instructions to him to 'do whatever he wants'

Thx again, Zuill
