Although I avoid it like the plague, once or twice a year I find myself needing it. I'm faced with some "human percussion" where I need hand claps, finger snaps, and foot stomps. I'm determined to (once again) follow the instructions and see if I can make it work. At worst, I'll put them in individual staves, since I need the playback for learning tracks, and layout doesn't matter. But: where do I find these sounds, and will they be loud enough to be heard?

How you do it depends on a couple of things. One question is: are these percussion sounds in their own measure, or mixed in the same measure as the vocals. That determines how i do it. If mixed, then you can do it in a different layer. It can be tricky, as you may know, when doing it that way. If you had a small sample with specifics about how you want it, that might be a good start.

Zuill,
I would put the precussion in a separate staff. Sometimes, I slip a wood block into the vocal staff by using another layer, but that won't work here.
What I need is sort of a "stomp, stomp, clap" sort of thing. Think "we will, we will rock you."
I should also add that I don't have the GIFF sounds loaded; just what comes in the basic Finale percussion sets.

I would have been back sooner but encountered crashing due to JW plugins (see my other post).
Anyway, here's a short demo.

Zuill,
Thanks. I can't try it out, because my grandson is asleep next to my office, but as soon as I can, I will!
