This update has several important fixes, like the problem with loss of window focus (on Mac). Often, when loading a file, the document window wouldn't be selected and trying to perform certain operations, choosing certain tools, or even scrolling would be greeted by protests from the OS until you manually selected the window. Also, Finale didn't observe the system-wide switching between open documents: there would always be an 'invisible' document while cycling between open windows. This has all been fixed.

Any idea if it has fixed the "finale has encountered an error and needs to shut down?"

I thought that moving to 25 had solved it, but it cropped up again just this morning.

That sounds like a crash reported by the OS, which could be caused by multiple bugs.

Wow, I've not seen that since before 2011.

What motet says.

Open Console.app and try to reproduce the error. Console logs are time stamped and record every call your Mac makes. Often, that's the best way to tell what happened.

If you're getting that frequently with several different versions, then some other factor is at play. Contact MM.
