Finale 2014.5, Windows 7
Starting a new large scale project, for which I'm still tinkering with the template. In the attached number, I wanted to change my articulation font from maestro to Engraver: when I do, the fermatas all automatically place under the staff, no matter what setting I choose. I tried going back and changing the font, but still no luck.
I prefer my fermatas always above the note and staff.

Unfortunately I am unable to duplicate your problem.
In the document you attached, I entered a note, and added a fermata on the note.
The fermata placed itself above the note.
I changed the fermata’s font to Engraver Font Set, and the fermata remained above the note.
Could you provide step-by-step instructions to reproduce the problem?

Motet, that would be the document I attached.
Peter, it may be something about this particular document, or iteration of it. I created the original template in 25, and then had to factory reset my PC, so I started this new document in 2014.5 from the original 25 template (long story). I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. When I open a blank document in 25, and change the font, the fermatas are fine. They're still locked under the staff in this one document.

I see now the fermatas at measure 12 in the strings. How did you apply them? They are not centered. If you select them all, press Backspace to clear manual positioning, then hit up-arrow, then Ctrl-D to refresh the screen, the problem goes away. Perhaps get used to applying them with the F metatool.

Argh! this is happening again! See the final measure in the strings. I have followed all the steps previously recommended.
