Hi,
I use a percussion staff with several percussion instruments. When I put in one instrument via Simple/Speedy Entry I can see the instrument names in pink color (see attachment). But the are hidden, when the entry mode is switched off. (How) can I see the instrument names automaticly in a staff or part? Or have I to use expressions for this?
Thank you

Are you talking about the printed layout - for the performer?
Or are you talking about the view on the computer screen - while you are working on the document?

Hi Peter,
Mostly it should be for the performer. But also the other way was not bad. I thought, that I could see it on the computer screen and then make a printout which contains the percussion names.

For the performer the usual methods are:
- Edit the Percussion Layout so that different instruments, that have their noteheads in the same vertical position, use different noteheads.
Often x-noteheads are used for metal instruments.
- Begin the first page with a legend (= survey) of all the instruments, and each instrument’s vertical position in the staff.
- You can also indicate an instrument where it begins to play.
This can be the instrument name written out in letters, or it can be an instrument symbol - take a look at the instrument symbols in the font Finale Percussion.
