I've got some WHOLE RESTS on m. 7 & 9 that I cannot delete.

I appreciate your always valuable help

I actually see them in measures 7 & 9.
The cause is that the previous measure is "overfilled".
In Speedy, click on measure 6, use the right arrow key to move to the right. You will see the rest, delete it.
Do the same in measure 8.

There's a "Check Region for Durations" plugin that can be a useful tool for situations like this.

Jose, part of the problem is that you seem to have entered real whole rests in each measure. If you're not careful, these rests will remain when you start entering notes and be pushed off the end of the measure, as in the file you posted. The rests you see in a new Finale file are the "default" whole rests - they disappear as soon as you start entering notes.

I could be wrong, but I thought I'd mention it.
