Hello friends.
Please answer me how to remove sign + and make to one measure contains 5 eighths, second measure 4 eighth, third measure 5 eighths, etc...
Finale gives me 9 eighths in each measure if I already specified that I want 5 eighth in the first measure, 4 eighth in second measure, 5 eighth in the third measure, 4 eighth in fifth measure...
Please help me so let be like on next music sheet:

Here is a link to an old answer on this forum. It should do what you want. In simple terms, you set up the first two measures as 5/8 and 4/8, and then copy and paste them as many times as you need them.

Study this. (To get rid of the plus sign I changed Document options/time signature/Composite time signature plus sign character.) Look at the time signature definitions for each of the first two measures. After doing that, you can use the copy filter to extend the time signatures to the rest of the document. Look closer at your original, though. I see two measures of 5 in a row in the picture.

1) To get rid of the time signature plus sign, go to
Document menu > Document Options > Time Signatures > Composite Time Signature Plus Sign Character
and choose a blank character (e. g.the Space character) as the character used for Plus Sign.
2) To get the desired layout, you must distinguish between the real time signature and the display time signature.
The first measure: The second measure: When you have done the first two measures, select them with the Selection Tool, copy them, and paste them a gazillion times, to get the pattern of 5/8 - 4/8 - 5/8 - 4/8 - &c.

Belated thanks to Peter Thomsen for the original answer.
Motet is correct. Line 2 has 4, 5, 5, 5 and line 3 has 5, 5, 4. Very confusing!

Hello Inside Out
It’s a little bit complicated, but here’s what I would do.
a) bar 1 - enter 5/8 time signature
b) bar 2 – enter 4/8 time signature (although looking at the beaming in the 4/8 bars, it might be best to use 2/4)
c) copy bars 1 and 2 for as many times as you need the 5/8 and 4/8 sequence of bars
d) hide all key signatures from bar 2
e) in bar 1, go to ‘edit time signature’. In the menu for ‘use a different time signature’, click on ‘composite’ and enter 5/8 + 4/8 like you did.
f) go to ‘document options > time signatures > composite time signature plus sign character’ and click on ‘score’ or ‘parts’ (or both). Select a blank square from the options to remove the plus.
g) now enter all the notes needed for the piece!

You should really set up composite time signatures as described above so that the beaming is correct automatically. It'd be very tiresome to have to beam everything manually (although one should be able to set up the copy filter to do this).
