I'm noticing some unwanted behaviour with shape-expression boxes I've created. (Windows, Finale 25)
I work on my score, and come back to earlier pages only to find the boxes in one measure have somehow changed shapes and positions.
I did assign a shortcut key to the boxes, so making changes to one does not affect the others. But for some reason, every once in a while (although a bit TOO regularly for my taste) groups of boxes usually just in a single measure (multi-staff score, small orchestra) will respace themselves, and resize.
Has anyone else come across this slightly buggy behaviour?

Find your box on the Expression palette and click "Edit". Is "Allow Horizontal Stretching" checked? If so, uncheck it and you should be good to go.

will that stop me from making the box a different size every time I use the shortcut key?
I need different width boxes at almost every use.

No - you'll still be able to size them individually. If horizontal stretching is checked on, you are fighting a losing battle. It is only for shapes that you actually want to resize themselves if the measure width changes, like a shape crescendo wedge. Before smart shape wedges, I've heard such things were necessary.Michel R E wrote:will that stop me from making the box a different size every time I use the shortcut key?
