Hi all, I'm an advanced user of Finale, and have encountered a new error. I'm hoping someone on here has a solution.

I finished a client chart today and hit apple-p to generate PDFs, and ran into:

"There is a printing problem (ID = -50).
Please check the printer's power and interface connections. Also check your Printer Setup for the correct printer selection."

It won't open the dialog box to get to pages, set up, outputs, nothing. Just this error box.

I have restarted. Do I need to re-install?

The last time I printed PDFs from Finale was last friday, but it worked fine.

Can you print or make PDFs from any other app?

Hi there, I could if I could get to the dialog box. .. but it wont' load. Just the error message.

I wound up exporting xml and re-importing it, but lost my part layouts in the process.

Try exporting as a PDF via the Graphics tool. I do it that way, so it doesn't add -Score to the end of the name.

BYW, you said that you restarted. Did you just restart the program, or the computer?

I recently had an issue with printing to PDF and, if I recall correctly, the cause was that I had one page size specified in page setup, and another page size specified in print setup. If I am not mistaken, these have to be the same to avoid the print error and disappearing dialog box. I don't know how my page sizes became different...

Anyway, just my $0.02. Hope it helps.

Cheers and best wishes,
HP.
