Mac
Finale Version 25.3.0.276 2017 -- and this is weird: when I tried to read the number again, and clicked the Final icon, it said 2014.5 I know I updated in March of 2017, and I'm having problems finding confirmation of that.

When I clicked Save or Save as, I got: While attempting to access “EnigmaTemp1089648055” the File Manager reported an error.
Finale - Error occurred. ID = -2

I hesitate to edit my score if I can't save it.

Help/About Finale will show you which version it is.

You may be able to save your file with Save As. Then try rebooting. Some people have had luck fixing the Enigma error by changing the program preference that says where Finale stores its temporary files.

Absolutely. And remember, if you have more than one version of Finale installed, have a separate folder for each version of Finale. Otherwise, you might get errors due to one version trying to access files from another version. Lastly, delete the .tmp files regularly.

If you have done loads of work and don't want to lose it, you can still save Clip files. (Alt Command C). You can paste them into a new document with Alt Command V.

Leaving Finale open for several days seems to be a factor in this bug. Make sure you quit and relaunch Finale regularly - particularly just before starting a big project.

If you are using a desktop Mac, there's a Terminal Command that disables App Nap globally. It could decrease battery life on a portable but this is not an issue on a desktop Mac. Running this helped with Word 2008, Digital Performer, iTunes and Finale on my iMac.
