I think this is a long-standing issue, curious if there's a workaround.

I find that when I do cross-staff beaming, it is very difficult to control where articulations are placed. I'll position them where I want them, but then when I click redraw, they move elsewhere (often switching sides). When I try to overcompensate, say dragging way higher to get it to be high enough, the articulations actually move in the OTHER direction (after redraw).

Is this a known thing, or unique to me? Is there a solution?

It's a known thing. You might try creating a parallel set of articulations with placement on the other side of the note.

Additionally, you could duplicate the necessary symbols and in the designer box, under "Handle Positioning", set it to "Manual".

I think the problem occurs when the symbol gets flipped, but the other day some (ewindles?) posted a file here where he had altered the handle offset and it suffered the same problem non-flipped, so maybe N's solution is good.

MM has known about this for, what, 10 years? 15?
