I've put all the cue notes with TG tools onto layer 4, hidden layer 4 in the full score. So far so good.

Go to parts and move default whole rests down or up away form the cue music...but...this also moves the default whole rests in the score also.

Is there anyway to keep the rests in the score in their default position, and in the parts where I've put them?

(Wanting to keep my part creation and score in same file so when edits come in after live performances it is easier to work on just one file)

You did not tell, with what method you moved the default whole measure rests, but I suspect that you did not use a custom staff style, right?

Staff styles can be different between score and linked parts.

No I didn't use a staff style...I just manually moved it down. Can't find a way to define or create a staff style where the rests would show differently in parts and score?

I suppose that you by your words “default whole rests” did not mean “default whole rests”, but rather “real whole rests”, right?

There is a plug-in that can change default whole rests to real whole rests.

I suppose that you used real whole rests, and moved the real whole rests down manually, right?

A way to hide cues in the score is to define a staff style as follows. Then you can leave the rests alone. Apply it to the score only, of course.

Thanks so much for the comprehensive reply with examples. I'll give this a go and let you know. Makes sense, just one of those things I've never tried to do this way!

Thanks Peter....with your and Motet's help it is all now working.
