Sound required: Suspended cymbal roll

Hi all,

I need a nice suspended cymbal roll (2-4 bars) going from ppp < f (l.v.) with soft mallets.

My collection of sounds includes Garritan (JABB, CAMB2, and GPO) and the sounds that come with Finale.

But I can't find a sound that is suitable... am I missing something? Can anyone recommend a suitable sound from the sounds that I have?

Have you tried suspended cymbal roll (mute release)? It's note #93. If the sound is too loud for your needs, you might set up GPO5 on its own channel in its own Aria instance and adjust its master volume to start softer than the other Aria instances. It'll get loud enough with the crescendo to reach forte.

You might also try this setup (attached). In an Aria instance with other instruments I placed a suspended cymbal and clashed cymbals on different layers and channels (13 and 14 respectively) and adjusted their volumes accordingly (50 and 125). Clashed (crash) cymbals always seem way too soft, while suspended cymbal always seems way too loud. So I adjusted the volumes accordingly.
