I want to put my second registration of Finale on my husband's computer so I deregistered it from my laptop and tried to register it on his. The message "You need to log into this computer as an administrator to authorize Finale" comes up and I can't get beyond it. Since this computer was originally mine, I logged out of his login and into mine on the same computer in which case the information came up but it kept saying I had used up my two registrations even though I had deregistered from the laptop. Any suggestions? I'd like to have my husband be able to use Finale on his computer under his administration.

It sounds to me like you might need to contact Customer Service. The will be able to tell where the registrations are, and cancel one out from their end, if necessary.

On his, try launching Finale by right-clicking on the icon and picking "run as administrator."

Not the issue.

Log into the user account at makemusic.com. Once in, click onto Manage Authorizations. You will be able to deauthorize one of them there.

I logged into my Finale account and managed to work my way to a page where they had the Finale registrations. I deregistered the one on the old laptop. Then I logged into my side of the computer I share with my husband and registered Finale and it worked! And when he logged back in, he was able to use Finale on his side as well. So everything is good. Thanks for the help.

You're very welcome.

This is a new feature at the web site and I doubt that most users are aware of it.

It was made necessary by a Windows 10 problem but all of us benefit.
