My score contains 2 staves for vocals. I need to delete one of the staves, but it's the one that has the lyrics attached; the other does not (3 verses).

How can I copy and paste all lyrics from one staff to the other before deleting the unneeded staff? Attempts so far have not achieved the correct results.

Clone Lyric is the way I do it.

Thanks. I'm on a PC but theoretically it should be about the same.

If you have notes with the same rhythm in other staves, you can use the Edit Filter to copy and paste ONLY lyrics. I do this all the time for both homophony and counterpoint!

If you don't have a note at the right place, the paste will miss out that syllable, but you can type it in afterwards.

Using the Edit filter method, it duplicates the lyrics in the Lyrics Window, which can lead to confusion and bloat. Using Clone Lyric merely copies the lyrics to another location without adding any lyrics to the Lyrics Window. That is a preferred method, in my opinion.

Typing in Score would do the same thing. And it's only confusing if you care to look at what's there. TBH, I rarely look in the Lyrics Window, and as long as the lyrics on the page are correct, I could not care less whether its contents are confusing or bloated.
