Finale>Preferences>Edit>Automatic Update Layout won't stay on. I open the dialog, set it, close the dialog, reopen, it's off. Other settings here do stick, so I don't think it's a problem being able to write to the prefs file...

I'll look for a different prefs file from backup- must be corrupted in some way..

Odd....

I grabbed some older prefs files from backup- same issue, even though I know at the time of the backup I was able to turn auto update on and off, it's a vital part of my workflow...

finally just reset all prefs, now OK. Hmmm

Did you manually save preferences after making the change (File Menu)? I'd suggest that.

There has been an interesting "feature" for as long as I can remember regarding this. If you are in Speedy Entry when checking the preferences, it shows as unchecked. In any other tool it shows as checked. Try investigating based on this information and see what you find.
