An actual question posed on the Finale Powerusers (sic) Facebook forum:

Instead of four-16th notes in a run (one count), I want to use five. Do I need to use the credenza tool or is there another way?

Boy, do I miss the old Make Music forum.

If the question is about a credenza, the one who should answer that is Mike.

And don't forget the admonished chord: sort of a augmented demolished, with the flatted calf.

Definitely requires the credenza tool.

Well, this one seems comparable, IMO. But yes, didn't MM suggest people use Facebook?

I'm a bit uncomfortable with threads like this one. We didn't all start off as accomplished professionals, nor does everyone in the world (or even in the Anglo-Saxon world) have perfect command of the English language. Must we really gloat over others being less than perfect?

NOTE: No intention whatsoever to ignite an altercation; simply stating my uneasiness with —in my eyes— uncalled for, inappropriate behaviour in a (semi) pubic area.

I take your point, but the moderator of that Facebook group has said recently that the group is intended for working professionals, and to ask naive questions elsewhere. But when I've looked it seems like at least half the questions are about simple things.

But where? I really don't mind that there is a Facebook group for amateur users of Finale. In fact, that seems the ideal medium.

A question may seem naive in the eyes of he who knows the answer and considers it to be simple; to the person struggling with the question, the same rarely is naive.

There is this forum, and there are others.
The point is that particular Facebook page IS called "Finale POWER USERS" and isn't the appropriate venue for asking questions that have answers easily found through a cursory browse of pre-existing Finale documentation.

Yes, I understand. Question remains who defines what a 'power user' is, but that aside.

My 'problem' is not with who should and who shouldn't post or ask questions over yonder, but with the way those less experienced users as well as users less fluent in English are being mocked over here.

Apart from "Finale Power Users" being a downright stupid name, I don't see the use of a forum in Facebook of all places competing with this one. I'm quite happy with Finale Forum and Feature Requests at MM, and would not be so having to browse through a half dozen more or less junky sites to find what I want.
I think ot would be a much better idea if the Facebook forum would serve the amateur users that have the same right to discuss things as we have without being snubbed or shooed away to 'somewhere else' . Where to? You don't seem to care, Michel.

By the way, I think we pros should be grateful that also amateurs purchase this reputedly/allegedly difficult program. In that way we may have it, and its developers a bit longer.

Anders, the Facebook page is started by a Finale user. That is, a private individual. It isn't an official voice of MakeMusic.
I don't care either way since I no longer belong to the Facebook page, I found some of its users to be too argumentative and/or outright obnoxious.

That said, MakeMusic has made certain resources available online, such as their "MakeMusic Help Centre" - say what you will about it. It's a place to ask questions, regardless of user level.

Thanks for the clarification, Michel! I wasn't aware of the MM Help Centre when submitting my 'argumentative' post. It looks like even the amateurs have somewhere to turn to. That's how it should be, really.
