Here's a worksheet I'm working on:

You can see that the default note spacing isn't consistent. I'd like every example to be at the exact center of the measure. Is there a setting that forces all notes to the center of each measure?

Thanks!

PS - rather than manually dragging each measure...

Once measures are locked, the JW Change plugin might be of help in the process.

Does JW Change work with Finale 25? It's not working for me.

There are v25 plugins available on Jari's website. Don't use the 32 bit versions. Also, make sure you have the latest update of v25. Earlier releases caused issues with plugins.

Zuill is right (of course). JW Change > Note Entries > Horizontal Position.

Doesn't JW Change only work with fixed values and not with real note centering in a measure?
I think it only can add absolute values to a note, but not apply a "center" command.

I would recommend the "Center Whole Notes" JW Lua script from Chris which is available here:

It can center whole notes in three different ways.
If I remember it correctly, you have to register for this French forum to be able to download the scripts.

It's the flats and sharps which make you think they're inconsistent, but they're not. The plug-ins may or may not ignore them.

JW Change does not truly center the notes. But it can help get the result faster than manually.

I have not worked with LUA since v25. I guess I should check it out.

It is not clear to me what you mean.

Some of the examples are wider because of their accidentals, or because or their seconds.

Should the examples (including their accidentals) be centered?
Or should the notes (disregarding their accidentals) be centered?

With the v0.49 release from last week, it seems pretty stable in v25.

Peter,

I understand the distinction, but I don't mind either way. Both look ok to me. I just want it to look generally centered.

You might try increasing Document Options / Notes and Rests / Spacing Before Music. With trial and error you should be able to get what you want, if all measures are the same width.
