From where did this dashed line come?

In the attached document, on page 3, the left bar line appears dashed. I don't know how it became so. I truncated the document as the dashed bar line at the beginning of the staff group appears on pages 10, 14 and 16.

Any way to make the line solid again?

"Left barline" in the measure attribute is set to dashed. How it got that way, I couldn't say. To fix it, select all in the measure tool, double click the first measure, and change Left Barline to Default.

Edit: Beat me to it!

You had the left barline for measure 7 set to dashed. If you don't want that, change it to default.

I don't think even Sherlock Holmes could sleuth out why Finale decided to change the appearance of the bar line. If working on problems preserves neuronal density and dendritic strength in the cerebral cortex, Finale might be viewed as a CNS stimulant, targeting cholinergic pathways.

Thanks for the help. I can now operate again at 12 Hz to 15 Hz.

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

Either you accidentally clicked or typed what was necessary to set the Dashed line (who knows, there may even be some mad undocumented 'metatool' in Measures Tool), or Finale is partial to randomly changing the parameters in its data structures.

For the sake of everyone who uses Finale, I would certainly hope that it was the former...! :(

The trick is eliminating the impossible, since success is going the extra mile.
