I'm using Finale 2014 on Windows 10. When I play a file that has Human Playback (through VST) items such as trills and pedaling are not audible. When I export the file to wav, they are there. Does anybody know why this might be happening? (See the attached file.)

I get both trills and pedaling in this file, so I can't offer any suggestions. I'm using Win 7, so maybe it's a Win 10 thing.

I looked at the file again and it says it's created in version 25, yet you talk about Finale 2014.

The used sound is a "Steinway D", this is not inside Fin2014. It came with Fin25. Maybe here is the problem.

I get proper playback in 25 and in 2014.

P.S.: Possibly your preferences are different for HP in your 2014 setup. However, those should affect realtime playback and .wav rendering, so I am guessing that's not it. How does realtime playback work in Finale 25?

Correction - I'm using the latest version of Finale - Version 25.4.1.152.

Can those of you who responded please describe your playback setups? I must have an incorrect setting. Thank you.

Since live playback in Finale doesn't play the ornaments or pedaling, but rendering to .wav does, my guess is that you are using Spacebar-click. That bypasses HP, and acts as if HP is set to None, whereas rendering to .wav automatically uses HP.

So, are you using Spacebar-click? If so, use the playback controls instead.

Wow - that was the problem. I was using Spacebar/click. When I use the playback controls, Human Playback works fine. How did you figure that out? I would never have guessed that was the issue. Thank you very much!!

Years of working with Finale. I'm sure it's covered in the documentation, but I'm not sure where.

You must be smarter than I am. I just couldn't figure it out and I'm also a long-time user (I found the 5 1/4 floppy disks from Version 1 that I purchased in the very early 1990's when we moved last year). Your answer will save me a lot of time and frustration and I appreciate your help.

I just looked through the documentation and haven't found it there yet. Maybe I discovered it by trial and error, maybe on one of the forums (fora?).

I think there may be two reasons: First of all, it is the fault of Windows 10 because my Finale works fine in my Windows 7. Second, it is the fault of WAV, Or all of my consideration is a fault, who knows? Good luck man
