Does anyone know of a way to achieve a "vertical" merge of two scores? What I mean is, I have an arrangement for wind orchestra which I need to re-score for brass band. The quickest and easiest way of doing the job would be to have an empty brass band template at the top of the page, with the original wind band score underneath it, so I could copy'n'paste selectively. I've tried to do this using the Finale Score Merge facility, but without success - doesn't seem to be designed for this kind of thing - more for "horizontal" merging; so to speak.

Any ideas, please?

PS: - I see that there is a sort of vertical merge option, but it seems to be geared towards creating a full score from a set of part files. I can't see a way to join two scores ...

Yeah ... but, 19 staves in a standard brass band score, all with different transpositions to be set up; lot of work. Was hoping for something semi-automated ...

You can "drag copy" between 2 open files. Just open the source score in the top half of your screen and the target score in the bottom half.

I don't know from brass bands, but won't Finale's staff-adding wizard take care of most of the transposition set-up? But probably copying in the woodwinds instead is easier, if you've already set up the brass band.

Yes, that was the way to go; didn't take anywhere near as long as I imagined.
