I'm making a youtube video illustrating how I transcribe traditional jazz records (or any music) into finale files.

I'm using OBS for screen capture, and Transcribe for the sound file.

Tried using Soundflower, and set up the multi output device, or whatever it is called.

It pickup up the microphone input, (me talking) and the Transcribe playback, but not the finale.

Have output set to built-in output, the same as transcribe.

Anyone with experience with this have any advice? Should I just stick another microphone in front of my speakers? (kind of makes using headphones impossible though, and I do this late at night when wife is sleeping.

Thanks in advance.

I've had very good results with Audio Hijack, which is Rogue Amoeba's newer audio thing.

I warmly recommend Audio Hijack, too.
And there is another "audio routing" application for Mac by the same company, called Loopback.
No need to put your mike in front of the speakers with these apps.

Will try it. Any suggestions for replacement of OBS itself?
Thanks.

OK, seems to work. AND their promo video has a trad-jazz soundtrack. Trying to figure out best way now to sync the good audio to the video of the screen grab. Probably record microphone to both, then align waveforms in the video editor.

Thanks for the recommendation. FYI to anyone interested: It costs $49.

With Audio Hijack or Loopback, you can even mix two inputs (mike, line), and you'll get a single audio file.
See the image (Audio Hijack) : 2 inputs : 1 is a mike, 2 is an audio editing software. Merged/mixed into a single Aiff file.

(You can also create separate 2 audio files, which you can sync & mix later in the video app)
