Pasting music with change of time sig

Hi all,
When I copy a section of one file's measures into another file, I have noticed that changes of time sig don't paste over, causing a handful of mis-barred measures. I right clicked and looked in 'edit filter' and confirmed that time sigs is checked. Any clues?
