Hi all,

Has anyone else noticed these two issues when one has two windows of the same document open:

1. When adding notes into one window, the edited bar jumps to the left of the window.
2. Buggy behaviour when using the arrow keys to push measures back or forward to another system.

These behaviours seem to go away if only one window is open.

Any fixes that I should know about? I have the latest updates to Fin 25.
Cheers,
HP.

Edit:
and 3. Dragging staffs up and down by handles doesn't work.

Hector Pascal,

To reproduce your problem I think that we need more info from you:

* What version of Mac OS X? - perhaps Sierra? (= 10.12)

* Scroll View or Page View?

That's not something I do often. I can imagine bugs might abound in that situation, given that there are problems with two windows of different documents.

I've noticed that staff dragging can be buggy when some staves are hidden.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I'm on Sierra running Fin 25 latest update and I'm in page view.

My main reason for having two windows open (of the same document) is for comparing measures that I've written in Mov 1 with measures that I am planning to write in Mov 3, for example. I guess the workaround is to print Mov 1 to pdf and look at that, or print it out on some paper.

Cheers,
HP.

Of course, the issue should be fixed, so worth mentioning it to MM.

Since you are using Page View, we need to know which Page View Style.
Have you perhaps tried several different Page View Styles?
Try e. g.
Looseleaf Style: Current Page Only

Hi again,

Thanks for the tip regarding the different Page View Styles. I did not know there were so many!

I tested some more and found that the problems persists despite the style of page view in the open windows. As is often the case, the bugs seem intermittent, particularly the one about the editing cursor jumping to the left of the window. A bit like that intermittent bug that unexpectedly removes the selection tool's ability to, um, .... select... The intermittency of a bug makes it quite difficult to comprehend at times.

I guess I will have to submit the bug to Finale.

Cheers,
Hector.

Interesting to assume this is a Finale bug when we don't have nearly enough information.

What Mac, model and year?

If not an iMac or portable, how many monitors and how are each connected? If any are USB, what driver and version?

If an iMac or portable, How is your 2nd monitor connected? Mini DVI/Thunderbolt port? USB? Other? If USB, what driver and version? Do you only have one external monitor?

For example, my 2010 27" iMac has two external monitors. One connects to the Mini DVI port; the other USB with the latest Display Link 10.13 compatible beta driver. That driver affects the performance of both external monitors — isn't supposed to but does.

Hi Mike,
Here's some extra info: I'm using an iMac 27in mid 2011, OS 10.12.6, no extra monitors, 16GB memory.
One day, I might make use of more monitors, but I'm getting by ok currently. The 23in is pretty good for most things I do.

Cheers,
HP.
