I have a job with hundreds of beams extended over rests, as well as with hundreds that are not!
Is there a way to extend beams over rests just for chosen passages, i.e. not globally?
With Document Options/Beams you may get this result, but unfortunately only globally:
Beams over rests 1.JPG
Beams over rests 1.JPG (11.06 KiB) Viewed 2344 times
What I would be able to do is to switch to this possibility, for other passages within the same document:
Beams over rests 2.JPG
Beams over rests 2.JPG (11.08 KiB) Viewed 2344 times
Anyone know about a plug-in that does this?

Could you use the Edit Filter to only paste in Beam alterations?

Thanks for the tip, BuonTempi. It works, but not with any exactness.
This I edited maually:
Beams over rests 3.JPG
Beams over rests 3.JPG (15.73 KiB) Viewed 2327 times
And copied with a filter as you suggested, to another page, with different measure widths:
Beams over rests 4.JPG
Beams over rests 4.JPG (17.46 KiB) Viewed 2327 times
Obviously the program does not reckognize the placement of the rest as related to where the beam extensions should end.
Also, the function seems rather limited. It isn't always possible to copy beam extensions and changes.

Anders Hedelin,

You could do it “the other way around:

Go to Document Options - Beams, and set “globally” beams over rests.

Then, where you do not need the beam, break the beam.

The “beam break” shortcut (with american keyboard layout) is the / key, but you probably already knew that.

If you are using another keyboard layout (perhaps a scandinavian keyboard layout), then the shortcut could be another key, e. g. the - key.
To see the Break Beam keyboard shortcut, look in the Entry Tool’s sub-menu with entry edit commands.
