How do you create endless playback repeat?

The manual mentions the ability to create a playback loop, an "endless repeat" of a section. But no steps are given. The usual "what" and not the "How" is offered. Anybody know how to get the repeat tool to play back a section in an endless loop?

I am not sure why an endless repeat does not work for you, but here is a “shot in the dark”:

Document menu > Document Options > Repeats

What is in the field {Maximum Repeat Passes}?

I set the "Maximum Repeat Passes" to 999, but I only get one repeat. Attached is my rest document.

This file is set to 2 repeats. I changed it to 99 and got 99.

I downloaded the same file, set to for 99 repeats; and it plays only twice for me. So either Finale version 2012 has a bug or there is some other setting elsewhere that is over-riding the one in Document options.

You're changing Document Options/Repeats, which I guess sets a global maximum. But also right-click on the handle in the Repeat tool and pick "Edit repeat assignment."
