In Finale 2014.5, I can't find any docs on for anything other than triplets unless a dialog box is involved. Is there no way to enter tuplets other than triplets without resort to a popup dialog? Why can't I use something similar to the workflow in speedy edit?
To make matters worse, the input field does not have focus in the tuplet dialog so I have to take my hand off the keyboard and use the mouse.
Not so speedy...

However, that does involve a dialogue box. I don't think Simple has the option of shortcuts as does Speedy.

Sorry--I didn't read well. But tabs will take you through the dialog (and alt- combos or arrow keys on the pull-downs) without the need for the mouse, at least on Windows. If the only tuplets you have for a while are quintuplets, then you can make the setting sticky and the just press 9 the next time.

that's exactly what I said I wanted to avoid in my original posting!motet wrote:Enter the first eighth note or whatever it is, then press Alt-Keypad9 (or Mac equivalent) and pick 5 in the space of 4 (or whatever you're seeking) and you've got it beat.
