I'm n touch with MakeMusic about this, but was wondering if anyone else had the same issue, or had had it before and found a way around it (or through it).

My copy of Finale 25 doesn't seem to be creating error logs at all. I've searched my entire computer for anything even remotely related to Finale error logs, but found nothing (although I found a slew of Aria Player error logs).

Do you have a designated, unique folder for the .tmp files? If so, they are in a sub-folder in that folder. In my Finale Temp folder, there is a folder called Finale (which was created by the program, not me). In that folder is one called Crash Reports. Maybe that is not what you are looking for, but that's where I have found the ones they needed for diagnosing a crash.

I've done a thorough search of my entire computer, all drives, every folder and subfolder, and there is nothing that comes up as "AudioDeviceErrors.log" which is the file I've been asked to supply by the MM technician looking into my little problem.
I even tried to search out "AudioDevice*.*" and "Audio*.*", every possible permutation of those words and wildcards. Nada.
I then just did a search for ALL *.log files, and found a whole bunch, none of which were "audio" anything.

I'm starting to wonder if there's some error in how Finale was installed on my disk.

Sorry. I was referring to Crash Reports. Different thing.

The MM technician couldn't tell you where the file should be located?

I don't have such a file either. Perhaps there were no errors.

yes actually, he told me exactly where to look for the files, but they weren't there.
they don't seem to exist at all on my computer anywhere.

Any chance you are running a "cleaning" program perhaps like Ccleaner that is set to delete log files?

Hmmm, not that I know of?
Unless Windows 8.1 has one by default that I am unaware of?
My disk is still full of all sorts of .tmp files, however, so I'd assume any such program would get rid of those as well.

For what Audio device are these error logs?

I have no idea!

I have an issue with Finale crashing every once in a while when I stop playback (Aria player, GPO5).
My original question to Tech Support was why Finale was unable to connect and send the error report it kept saying it was sending. I've never had a successful error report go through, I always get an error on the error report

So we've tried a bunch of things, and while the frequency of crashes seems to have diminished (although this COULD be a side-effect of my working more with Finale 2012 this last while because I need some samples that don't play nice with Finale25), I still do get crashes upon stopping playback.

So this person from tech support wants to see some error log file, which I cannot, for the life of me, find anywhere on my computer.
