I have been having a problem with staff names.

1. I cannot easily edit them after Finale decides what they will be.
2.Opening all the usual edit options yields no results. Also can't edit them in Score Manager.
3. Finale decides to number each staff name in a group, and I can't figure out how to delete the numbers, which I absolutely do not want.

The score has been set up in the Wizard.

In the Score Manager, uncheck "Auto number" for each.

Hard to tell without actually seeing the document. If they're not displaying in Staff Names, are they Group Names?

Are my posts getting missed because of the fake second posting that always seems to be there?

I see a post of yours, right after that slot.

My guess was that the O.P. was complaining about the I, II, III that Finale tacks on by default, and that hence BuonTempi didn't notice my posting, but now that I think about it, perhaps there's more to it.

Is it possible to have that ad not masquerade as a posting in the topic?

I don't think so. After all, the ads are what keep the forum free!

I'm not suggesting getting rid of ads by any means. Just that they not say "Re: How to change Staff Names." But maybe that's the only way to get them inline. Obviously, a minor issue.
