Use the Split Measure plugin (Plugins > Measures) and then use the Measure Tool to add the double bar.

Thank you, Grossingink, but I don't get it.

1) Plugs-in/ Meaures/ Split measure
2) 2 Options: invisible or dashed. I chose dashed

and then, how do I arrive to change that dash bar into a double bar?

With the Measure Tool, double click on the measure that has the dashed barline and pick the double bar from the menu.

Not so easy:
1) If I click in the first part of the measure the double bar appears at the end of the measure before
2) If I click in second part, double bar appears at the end of the split measure.
I never get the double bar in the place of the dashed one

Then, do it the long way. For example, change a 4/4 measure to 2 measures of 2/4, with the time signatures displaying as 4/4 (so they won’t show.) Then, change the barline of the first measure.

I thought that that was what the plug-in did, but maybe there is more there that is preventing the change.

Does this picture help? The plugin works just fine; the Measure Tool changes the barline style just fine.

After running the plug in, the measure should look like it does below. Right-click in that shaded measure and pick Barline/Double from the menu.

Thank you very much, motet ( and the other helpers) , too That's the point I missed before.

Then the route is:

1) Select the measure I want to split
2) Plug-inns menu/ Measures/ Split measure/ Barline: Dashed
3) Right-click in the shaded measure (that is in the 1st part of the measure)
4) Pick Barline/Double from the menu that appears
