Windows 7 Finale 2014.5
I've searched as best I can for info on this, but nothing so far. Is there a way to create a cue in a linked part that doesn't show up in the full score? This is a string quartet.
Any advanced videos or other info on linked parts would be much appreciated: the manual doesn't offer much.

Use a custom staff style.ewindels wrote:… Is there a way to create a cue in a linked part that doesn't show up in the full score? …
Staff styles can be different between score and linked parts.
The idea is that you in the score (but not in the linked part!) hide the layer containing the cue.
This is done in the dialog box Alternate Notation where you have the option of showing notes in other layers.

On the subject of cues, did any of you see the video last week about how cues are going to work in Dorico? The cues are linked to the source music, and formatted automatically. It makes the Finale way of doing cues look pretty clunky, if it works as well as the video shows.

Another thing regarding the cues notes : they have to remain silent, not to interfere with the audio playback of the score.
The easiest way is to select the region and apply the plug-in JW Change -> Note Entries -> Playback -> Mute and select the layer (usually layer 4) where the cue notes are located.
This also could be implemented in the Add Cue Note plug-in.

I saw that demo video also. Pretty slick. Percussion notation and Fingerings too. Dorico has a way to go, probably 2-3 years. If they continue to do it right and listen to us Finale users, Finale will be in trouble.whrcomposer wrote:On the subject of cues, did any of you see the video last week about how cues are going to work in Dorico?
