Windows 7 Finale 2014.5

What do you do about 8va lines in a linked part cue that shows up in the score? I've managed to make the cue invisible by placing it in Layer 4 and then hiding that layer with a staff style, but that doesn't seem to address things like Smart Shapes, esp. 8va or 15va shapes. To have them floating in the score is annoying.

Also, in some of the cues, I've had to drag the layer 1 whole note rests to keep them out of the way of the cue, usually to the top or bottom of the stave to differentiate them from the cue. They show up the same way in the score, which is disorienting.

Any suggestions appreciated.

About your first question :
In the score, select the handle of the Smart Line, select Unlink in All Parts and uncheck Show. It will be invisible in the score but present in the part.

For the whole-rest problem, you can perhaps apply the "blank notation with rests" staff style in the score.
