adding trill note indication

Using latest Finale on Mac High Sierra.

Briefly, how can I add a small note indicating a trill note?

I've got some piano music with seven systems of trills and tremolos to enter. On the trills I want to enter the note and then the trilled note (and an accidental if needed) immediately afterward as a cue sized note without a stem.

I know how to enter a small note without a stem. What I don't know is how to place that close to the note, rather than in the position of the next note rhythmically. And of course that note can't be included in Finale's rhythmic adding things up. It's just an indication of the trill note.

An example follows. The traditional trill symbol appears over only the first note (A-sharp to B-natural).

Create a Shape articulation.

The Engraver Font Set has the needed symbols (parenthesized), if that works for you. That is easier than creating a Shape articulation.

A tr with a natural sign would probably work in the examples given, and has the advantage of already being there.

I considered this ... and am still considering this.

Does anyone foresee any problems from the standpoint of music theory of using tr with accidentals with atonal music?
They seem rooted in tonality. As I look at the occasions for them in the score I'm working on, I can't think of any
reason not to do this ... with one exception: these symbols above notes that may already have articulations on them
and then to add an accidental above that makes for a pretty tall symbol in an already vertically crowded system.
I've already increased the default space between systems from 1" to 1.3" and there still some tight spots.

You may need the space between systems to be variable, according to what's there. This is pretty typical of printed music. You could also alter the articulation to move the accidental next to the tr instead of on top of it.
