I'm working on an educational piece with graphic notation. I have replaced the noteheads with custom characters and want to do the same with the rests. But Finale by default puts a line under the character for the half rest (and I guess it will also put a line over the character of the whole rest).

Is it possible to hide this line?

Thanks!

Emile

Go to Document Options > Lines and Curves and set the right and left rest lines to "zero".

If you eliminate the lines, how do you tell a half rest from a whole rest? Or doesn't it matter?

Thanks! That works!

I have graphic symbols which I use instead of the normal notation. And I only use half rests, so I don't have to worry about the whole rests!

All the best,

Emile
