I used the New Document set up wizard today to start a new file. 2 voices + Piano (See file). The page view is microscopic although the staves are the correct size in scroll view. If I zoom to 400% and click on the stave with the percent tool it does not help solve the problem as it is all 100%. I'm working on an A4 page.
Any ideas?
Staves too small in new document

If you go to Document Menu > Page Format > Score, the staff size and system scaling are unusually small. I changed the settings as in the attached picture, went to the Page Layout Menu to Redefine all Pages and the result is more of what you'd expect. To change the sizing to taste, increase or decrease the staff height and redefine.

Thank you. Been using Finale since '97 and never used that menu via that route, but obvious now you I've been shown.
Is there a way to save these settings so that future documents created with the wizard will not do the same? Ordinary NEW documents are fine, Wizard ones always too small.

The behavior you describe is definitely not normal. Finale installs configuration files that control the software operation, like new files created with the Wizard. I'd suggest you get your installation disks out and do a "Custom Install" of only the configuration files. That might solve the problem you're having.

Files saved in the user's Document Styles folder are available for selection in the Setup Wizard as the basis of new documents. They can include all your settings, preferences, options, parameters, libraries, etc.cornopean wrote:Is there a way to save these settings so that future documents created with the wizard will not do the same?
