I'm a keyboardist/sax player.

I'm making an Xmas chart for a concert. I'm playing Organ for the entire tune but need about 8 bars of a Sax part.

I generated a part including the Organ staff and the Sax staff. But since the sax only comes in for 8 bars in the middle of the tune, is there a way to hide the unused Sax measures/staff until the measures where the sax part comes in?

Yes. With the Staff Tool, highlight the Sax staff and choose to Hide Empty Staves. Only the bars with notes should remain.

Since I can't see your file, I can't say. In my test, the system margins adjusted accordingly, so there was no extra space for the hidden staves.

Ah. OK.

I had to do some pretty major surgery to get the chart to look right ... but I was able to accomplish what I was hoping to.

thanks!

One thing I do is to make sure the systems are locked before hiding staves.
