I'm trying to use a condensed font in lyrics.
I'm changing the whole lyrics font from lyrics window, selecting the whole text.

Unfortunately it seems impossible to use any sort of condensed font.
I tried Verlag, ITC Garamond and Steelfish, all in OTF format.
In any case I receive an error message.
Any solution?

Finale 25.5 / windows

Thanks,

Diego

Can you use that font in other apps?

You could try the Change Fonts plug-in (under Plug-ins > Miscellaneous), which allows you to change the current lyric font.

I use Condensed fonts for lyrics all the time.

Finale is not a word processor; it's limited by comparison. It cannot use a font that is unavailable to the application.

Many applications use fonts that are available to that app only. There are workarounds for this but I know them for the Mac only anymore.

Have a look at my Finale font name troubleshooting guide at the end of this article and/or read the full article.
https://elbsound.studio/font-names-in-finale.php
Maybe this helps?

My guess:
Add the english typeface to the font name and enter it into the font name field and select "Standard" in the typeface.
Try for example "ITC Garamond Std Condensed" in the font name field.
On my German Windows if I want to select "DejaVu Sans" / "Schmal" (=German for condensed), I must type "DejaVu Sans Condensed" and select "Standard".
