Hi! Since long time ago I have two questions regarding Finale which I can not solve.

1) I use some shortcuts for the Main Tool Palette, creating the using Ctrl-Opt. I re-create this shortcuts every time I start a new score. Is it possible to have them loaded by default with every new file?

2) I like to have Smart Shape Slurs on top of the staff. Is is possible to force this so that it always goes on top of the staff?

Happy engraving!

1) Tool metatools are document specific, not program specific.
To get the same tool metatools in all new documents, program the tool metatools in the template you use for new documents.
You may use different templates for different projects.
You can have different tool metatools in different templates.

2) I do not know of a slur setting that will make all slurs automatically go on top of the staff, sorry!
But why do you need all slurs to go on top of the staff?
If you explain the reason, then we might be able to suggest a different solution.
The better we understand, the better we can help.

There is a universal setting for slur direction. Choose the slur from the palette. Then, in the Smart Shape drop down menu, mouse over the bottom item in the list called Direction. There's Automatic, Over and Under. Choose Over.
