Creating a larger arrowhead
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I'm looking to have a measure which only contains a right pointing arrow, as you can see in my attached image. At the moment, I think the arrow, especially the arrowhead, is too small.
So how would I increase the size of this arrow/arrowhead? The size of the line before the arrowhead is easy to increase, though scaling the whole shape up would work too of course.
At the moment from some googling and manual reading I can only see how to edit the custom arrowheads (which don't include the basic one in my image). Surely there must be an easy way to do this?
Thanks

You can create a custom arrowhead with a font character as the arrowhead. Or, you can do it as the ending text (Right End) as a font character. Try Wingdings 3, character 117. I tried, for starters, at size 20. You can choose whatever works for you. For the custom arrowhead, you need to choose the Text Tool in the shape designer and set the font to Wingdings 3, and the size you want. I had to position it slightly to the left of the reference point in the middle of the designer to get it to overlap the line. With the ending text approach, you can manually drag the arrowhead to where you want it, or do it precisely with the Horizontal and Vertical numbers.
If this is all overwhelming, let us know and maybe we can post a sample file.

Other options:
1) Some of the Finale fonts have arrows, e. g. the Engraver Text fonts (in slot #68), and the Finale Numerics font (in slot #192).
2) A triangle arrowhead can be created as a shape (in the Shape Designer).
To do so, use the Shape Designer’s sub-tool Polygon Tool.
When you have created the triangle, fill it with Black.

Peter,
The Mac fonts must be different. On Windows, the Engraver Text font slot 68 is a D, and the Finale Numerics font slot 192 is an arrow but with a different shape.

I should not reply when I am a little too tired.
I did not mean slot #68, but rather slot #58.
I, too, have a D in slot #68 in the Engraver Text fonts.
But I have an arrow in slot #58.
