After my system was hacked and infected recently, I formatted the HDD, re-installed Windows 7 and Finale 2012 with upgrades and had Finale activated. Now the volume in Score Manager (Instruments tab) is missing (please see attached image). Previously I had R, M, S, Vol, and Pan in the header: now I only have M and S.

After consulting the manual and extensively troubleshooting, I came up with no solution. Anyone know how I might regain the volume and other settings?

In your screen shot of the Instrument List, in the right side, halfway between top and bottom, there is a button called
“Customize View…”.
Go there, and select Mix.
Does that help?

By the way, mine looks like this. No amount of dragging of window or columns seems to make the column headers more reasonable. Is it peculiar to my setup?

Thanks Peter. That worked.

Motet, are you saying that dragging the nearly invisible dividers horizontally in the heading fails to show the full text? I adjusted mine as in the attachment. They do get squeezed if I drag the right border of the panel too far inward; but I rarely need to do so as I use dual monitors.

I can't widen those columns no matter what, but I just discovered that unchecking then rechecking in "customize view" (Program Change, Channel, Start Measure) widens them enough that the headers are now normal. (Still can't change the width by dragging the dividers, though)

Does dragging the borders of the window out make any difference?

Nope. I've also tried dragging adjacent columns. But all is satisfactory now.
