See below. When there are two voices on a staff like this, should I spread the tenuto marks far above and below as I did? Finale's default position is to bury them in the middle of the staff.

There is a setting in JW Change which helps with this (articulations, placement, stem side or similar).

The out-of-the-box tenuto placement is set to "Auto Note/Stem Side," so you must be applying them wrong. Change to the proper layer before applying.
