When I load instruments - when opening a file, for example, and preparing for playback - the little "loading" box that shows progress is juuuust off my screen. I can see its bottom right hand corner, but nothing will let me grab it and pull it back to its normal place at the very centre of my screen.

I vaguely remember that there was a way of fixing this problem but can't, for the life of me, remember WHAT that method was.

Any help with this minor inconvenience would be appreciated.

added details:
yes, I've regularly switched my monitor back and forth from portrait to landscape (depending on the type of score I'm working on), but that little box is just as elusive in Portrait mode as it is in landscape.

Set your monitor to a higher than normal resolution. You should now see the box and be able to move it to the center of the screen. Save preferences and return to normal resolution.

Not sure if this will work, but it's the first thing I'd try.

I don't think that will work, it would seem my monitor is already at the highest resolution it can handle. I have no other higher resolution options available in the menu.

If all else fails, regenerating your preferences should fix it. I usually save a good version of my preferences once I get them as I want them. Then, when things like this happen, I replace the "corrupt" preferences with the good one. Sometimes a reboot fixes things, so I usually do that before dealing with the preferences.

I'll try that... as soon as I find the preferences file to delete!

Finale 25 can do it right from the preferences.

I tried it, restarted computer, followed all the instructions.. and the loading box is still in it's faulty position on screen.
I mean, I can LIVE with the problem, but it is a minor aggravation since some of my libraries take a while to load a single instrument, and it's nice to know whether the instrument is loading or Finale has frozen.
