across the top of my screen, just below the menu texts, I have buttons for all sorts of tools.
I remember being able to ctrl-click or alt-click on that bar and add/remove buttons I wanted or did not want.
I have accidentally removed the "special tools" button (not a palette, just a button that called up the special tool palette) and cannot figure out how to get it back now.
are things this different in Finale 25.5 from Finale 25?

In the Window menu, select Advanced Tools Palette. It has all 5 Advanced Tools in the palette. The Special Tools button is one of the 5.

Which can be customized with Window/Customize palettes. I don't think Finale lets you manually drag icons on and off palettes, though I don't have F25.

THANK-YOU!!!!

That was exactly what I was missing.
The "tool bar" that I had customized (removed buttons I didn't need, so only "special tools" and "note mover" appeared) had disappeared and I couldn't figure out how to get it back up there with the other toolbars.
