I'm using Finale Ver. 25 on Windows. I'm a long time Finale user (since 1997). I find it frustrating that often when I try to select a measure in just one part (in order to copy and paste) that Finale grabs the whole score, that measure. How can I avoid this? :?:

A single click in a single measure with the selection tool should select only that measure.

I know it should, but often it selects the whole score, one measure. Could it be that I move my mouse ever so slightly?

Could you be double-clicking?

Click in the middle of the measure.

If all else fails, I'd check the preferences to see that they're not causing a malfunction–

If you have a virtual stuck Alt key, that would cause this. Have you tried rebooting?

" I find it frustrating that often when I try to select a measure...
I don't necessarily see a specific issue selecting just one measure but I do think the mouse routine in Finale is worse than other programs. I am by no means a computer guru. I do know a little of what goes on past the keyboard but not much. Back in the Commodore 64 & 128 days we did do a lot of behind the scenes building and programing. :D I do know what I see using them, however.
I guess MM buys a mouse routine from MS for the Windows GUI ? As I guess Adobe also buys one form MS ? ANd that is my main most concern with the two main most softwares I use daily. Finale 26 and Adobe Photoshop. It just feels to me that the mouse works better in PS than it does in Finale. Just an observation.
