How are you entering the notes? In a casse like this, I would enter them backwards; that is, right-to-left from the primary note. Try that, and let us know if it made a difference.

Indeed grace notes are played back before the beat.
To get them played on the beat, use Human Playback, and choose a playback style that has the option
{Baroque Ornaments & Grace Notes}
selected
The ready made style
Baroque
has
{Baroque Ornaments & Grace Notes}
selected.

Peter Thomsen,
Thank you. But for some reason that doesn't work for me. Even with Baroque Ornaments and Grace Notes selected, the grace notes still play before the beat.

Jerry Engelbach,
What playback style are you using?
In the pane {Interpret:}, does the playback style have the option
{Ornaments & Tremolos}
selected, or de-selected?

Peter,
Curious to know -- does it work on the beat for you? If so, could you post a snippet that works?

You are using Finale v26 - right?
I am not sure what you mean by your question.
I do understand that you are now getting the opposite of the playback, you need.
But which playback do you need?
- Grace notes played before the beat? (but you are now getting grace notes on the beat)
- Grace notes played on the beat? (but you are now getting grace notes before the beat)
Take a look at the two attached Finale documents.

Peter,
I was trying to figure out the problem the OP was having, as were you. I am testing on 27, not 26.
It looks like the grace note is on the beat if there is just one, but OP was asking about 3 grace notes and I haven't been able to figure out a way to get them on the beat. An articulation such as a turn has no problem being on the beat so there should be a way.
Thanks, as always, for your leadership on this board.

I'm using Baroque. And I selected Custom to check that Baroque Ornaments & Grace Notes was selected.Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:43 pmJerry Engelbach,

It makes no difference whether Ornaments & Tremolos is selected, or whether I have one grace note or more: the grace notes still start before the beat.

It can be difficult to diagnose something blindly with nothing to look at.
I suggest that you attach the Finale document here, for the gurus to examine.

Never mind. Here was the solution from Finale, which works for single grace notes but not multiple ones.
Open your file.
Select MIDI/Audio > Human Playback > Human Playback Preferences.
Navigate to the MIDI Data tab.
Next to Start/Stop Time, select HP (Ignore Data) from the dropdown menu.
Click OK.
Test playback.
It works. The single grace note plays on the beat instead of before it.
Again, thanks much for the help.
Cheers,
Jer
