I’m trying to help a friend, here.

He scans a single line score, and imports it into Finale. We’ve solved the transposition issue. All is well.

He adds staves for two other instruments, and copies the line into them.

What he wants is to generate/extract/link (whatever, please clarify the difference for me!) and be able to print the individual parts. He wants the layout to match, with staves and number of measures per line. Evidently, his people don’t do measure numbers, but want “third line, second measure” instead. Is there a way to set a template for those parts so that they match, without him having to shift measures up or down?

I've never quite understood why people want to do this, but JW Copy Part Layout should help.

Thanks, Motet. That looks like it’s only available in a 64-bit beta, and says for F25.

Has anyone used it in 27? I can’t test it myself, because I’m on a Mac.

Works perfectly well in Fin 27 (and also before, at least from 2014.5 on, as far as I remember). It's very useful (for me, anyway), I use it all the time.

JW Copy Part Layout (Mac & Windows) exists in 32 bit version (Finale 2010-2014.5) and 64 bit version (Finale 25 and above).
In Finale 27, Makemusic included it in the plug-in menu under JW Tools (compatible with Macs with the new M1, M2 processors).
