I have a piece that's written as chant, with time signatures jumping around: 14/4, 3/4, 9/4, 3/4, jumble around, rinse and repeat. This is no problem, I have the SATB parts entered. However, there is a bass drone under the entire piece. I figured I'd use the organ for sound, but is there a way to set it up to not have to use tied double-whole notes, tied together, front to back?

Is this a spot for independent time signatures, which I've never used before?

JW Meter and Rhythm is not included anymore. Is there a LUA script that would help?

How about just one, tied, {double-whole note} in each measure, regardless of the time signature?

Would that layout work for you?

You can use the Tuplet Tool to create each {whole measure note} as a {nothing displaying} tuplet.

That’s what I did; just tied double whole notes front to back.

Is it for just playback or does it need to be for the musicians?
Anything that works and can be hidden if it makes a sound. But if you need a score for the musicians it is almost like a percussion part.
Make the first measure with the wanted sound then use 1-bar repeats the rest of the score.

I've never done such but if I had to I think that is how I would approach it.

What's the problem with tied double whole notes?

In this case, playback was all I needed. So, it didn’t matter how it looked.

Thanks to all!
