I have a couple of measures that I need to adjust manually for spacing. Finale doesn't get it quite right. I use the measure tool to drag the measures to stretch out one or two of the them, but I find that Finale reverts back to the old spacing when I make other changes elsewhere. I have the same problem when I manually slide notes left and right for spacing: the note spacing reverts back when I make changes somewhere else in the document. How do I keep these manual adjustments persistent?

1) Take a look in
Preferences - Edit
In the pane Automatic Settings, is the setting
Automatic Music Spacing
selected or de-selected?
(NB: this is program specific)

2) Document Options - Multimeasure Rests
Is the option
Update Automatically
selected or de-selected?
(NB: this is document specific)

Ok, thanks. I turned off automatic music spacing. I'll see if that fixes the issue. The multimeasure rests is already unchecked.

What worked for me was locking the spacing adjustments. When you're done tweaking, go to the "Utilities" menu, select "Lock Systems," and choose "Lock Spacing."
