In the attached file, I believe that I had three lines (violin1 &2, viola) that I may have hidden. I pressed Command-K and it shows they are there (?) but I forget how to reveal them in the score. What do I need to do to reveal them? Thanks.

Yes, you're right. I do think the way to learn, though, is to discover for oneself if you can, so I was hoping that in pointing to the Staff tool he would see the dotted lines where the missing staves are, or would explore what's available from that tool on the menu. I think you're more likely to remember that way than if someone just tells you what to do, which I'm guessing is how the staves got hidden initially, but I probably should have just answered.

Not sure I agree completely, EB. If it's a complex set of information, yes, we are here to help. If it's something that can be solved by typing "show hidden staves" in the search field of the help files, then possibly RTFM is the better choice.

When I grew up (and dinosaurs roamed the earth) my references were Webster's Dictionary and World Book Encyclopedia. I can't begin to count what I learned, by seeing articles, spellings, and definitions, that came before and after what I was actually looking for. Google and PDFs are faster, but I can't help but wonder how much of that serendipity is lost.

It all has to do with the basic knowledge of Finale. We, here, on the forum must assume the person isn't versed in Finale. When I teach the 5th graders to play an F on their brand new trombone, I can't simply say it's in 1st position. Explore your horn. The bottom line is whether you are a teacher at heart or not. IMHO, you can't afford to be complacent when offering help which is exactly how that sounded.
